Brat Days 2013: Brat Eating Contest

Dis heres Fritz Boygan (dats me on the da left side of dat there picture) an on behaf a da Sheboygan Jaycees me an my lovely lil mustard cup Helga (she’s da short one in dat picture) are really proud once ta present to ya, da Brat Eating Contest, enso! Ifn yer lookin for some good clean wholesome fun, we gottit! An ifn yer lookin for some raucous debauchery wit a touch of gluttony, I guess we got dat too. Most of all, what we got is a side splittin good time. Dis extremely fine culinary competition will have ya laughin so hard, yool be stepping an fetchin like an old maid playin stoop tag in an asparagus patch!

Anyhoo, shes gonna be happenin on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at about 12:00PM in de afternoon, down by Kiwanis on da Johnsonville Stage. Dis here event been goin on since Nineteen Fiddy Tree and shes still goin strong, almost as strong as da aroma commin offa Ma’s blood sausage an head cheese tent, oh ya!

Now ifn yer da big eater on da block an ya figure yer up for a lil consumption of mass quantities of bratwurst, ya might wanna enter in Da Wisconsin Division an see how ya fare against sum a Sheboygan’s finest brat eaters. Yous can do dat by goin over by da volunteer tent down on da grounds an sign up by fillin out an entry blank, reading da rules, an givin da Jaycees ten bucks caus dey ain’t givin out a free lunch ya know! An for da rest of us, we’ll be looking fer ya down by da park once, enso!

Info & Rules

Grand Prize: $1,000 & A year supply of Johnsonville products

General Information:

1. Contest Starts at Noon on Saturday, August 3, 2013.

a) Online registration is open now and if spots remain, in-person registration will be open 10:00 am to 11:30 am on Saturday, August 3, 2013.

b) The day of the event, if we have a full field of 20 eaters, a waiting list will be taken in the event an eater does not show up by 11:00 am.

c) An information and rules meeting will occur at 11:45 am with the announcement of eaters and contest beginning at Noon.

d) If a pre-registered eater has not checked-in by 11:45 am his/her spot will be given to the first person on the waiting list at 11:45 am. Entry fee will not be refunded.

2. Grand prize is $1000.

a) $500 is a cash prize

b) $500 will be donated to pre-selected charity on your behalf

c) A year supply of Johnsonville products

d) Trophy

3. Maximum of 20 contestants

4. Must sign-in at the Jaycee Manpower Tent prior to the event.

a) Cost is $10 per contestant.

b) Wisconsin residents only. Please have Proof of identification available the day of the event.

c) Must sign a waiver form.

d) Must specify which charity you would like to donate to: The Sheboygan Jaycees, Neighbors Against Drugs, The Boys and Girls Club, or The Sheboygan County Food Pantry.

e) All contestants will receive a T-shirt and a Johnsonville Coupon for a free package of Johnsonville products.

5. First Responders will be on site

Tournament Rules:

1. Contest will last 10 minutes.

2. Winner will be determined by number of brats consumed.

3. Brats will be “Naked”.  There will be no buns or condiments.

4. Water will be provided.

5. No Hurling. You will be disqualified and you will have to clean up your own mess.

6. No cheating!
